Bring Enchantment to Your School

mufaro-banner-920x420

Enchantment Theatre is unique in its communicative power. By its use of the art of pantomime, it enables students from all language backgrounds to fully participate in the theatrical experience. In so doing, it breaks down the barriers between students of different heritages and aids in the process of building a vibrant learning community.

With many of the productions of Enchantment Theatre being based on storybooks, the use of these prior to the trip in the literacy classes enables students a second pathway into comprehending the text. In so doing, it aids language and literacy education by engaging students in visual and textual experiences that bring stories to life.

– Dr. Dennis Creedon, Former Assistant Superintendent, The School District of Philadelphia

Enchantment Everywhere in Schools

Magical productions that breathe life into classic stories

Bring Enchantment to your school! An Enchantment Everywhere production provides your students fun, new ways to move and interact with literature – right in your own school. Let us help you ignite your students’ imagination, delight their senses and stimulate their minds.

Start by booking an assembly performance for your school and add a pre- or post-performance workshop to enhance your students’ experience!

Add On: Pre- or Post-Performance Workshop

ETC teaching artists are available to visit your Greater Philadelphia area classroom to help prepare students for the show. Our teaching artists will introduce students to the story, characters and themes, and the different theatre forms they will see in the play (puppets, masks, physical theatre).

Our artists are also available after the performance to discuss your students’ experience, and to introduce them to the possibility of creating their own production.

These workshops are available as an assembly program or a classroom demonstration. Let us know when you book your Enchantment Everywhere performance that you’re interested in adding a workshop for an additional fee.

In-School Residencies

We offer long-term artist-in-residency programs in Philadelphia area schools. Students work closely with teaching artists to learn the elements of Enchantment’s signature style (puppets, masks, physical theatre) and create and perform a theatrical work of their own. Although the basic principles are appropriate for all students, each residency is customized to the size, needs, age and skill level of each group.

Our most recent In-School Residencies included at the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, F. Amedee Bregy, George W. Childs, William H. Hunter and D. Newlin Fell Elementary Schools.

We can also customize a one-time workshop or short workshop series for your school, scout troop or community service organization.

To request an Enchantment workshop or residency, contact Eleni Delopoulos at eleni@enchantmenttheatre.org.

We love this picture so much. This captures the co We love this picture so much. This captures the complexity of the work and the magic of what Enchantment brings to students so beautifully. You can see actors backstage of the set the built themselves in this all purpose room in a school in Philadelphia. Actors on stage telling the story of The Fisherman and the Flounder, and the audience of students, riveted, many of them seeing a full produced show for the first time. After the show those students will get to talk to the cast and crew, and do exercises provided in our study guides in their own classroom.

This is the magic of Enchantment Everywhere.

Our Enchantment Everywhere cast and crews are the Our Enchantment Everywhere cast and crews are the hardest working people in show business! Pictured here is the cast and crew of The Brave Little Tailor, on a double show (double venue) day in June. We are so grateful to their hard work, and the impact they have on the communities of students and families that they perform for!
